In the summer of 2018, Meisl moved from the Red Bull Salzburg youth team to Wien-Favoriten and after a few games for the U18s he established himself with the Young Violets in the second division. For the 2021/22 season, Meisl was promoted to captain in Harald Suchard’s team and has played 78 games in the second division to date.
In the summer of 2022, Manfred Schmid promoted the defensive player to the pros, where, after several squad nominations in the championship and the European Cup, he finally celebrated his Bundesliga debut against SV Ried on September 18th.
Matteo Meisl: “It was a very special moment that you only experience once in your career. I’ve been working towards it for a long time and I think I deserve this debut.
