In Vaikom taluk, the waterlogged areas were severe in Vishkekara, Vazhamana of Udayanapuram panchayat, Iyerkulangara of Vaikom municipality, Mannathanam and Cherikal in TVpuram panchayat, Korikal and Pazampatti of Thalayolaparam panchayat. The reason for this is the delay in allowing the rain water to flow. In Etumanur Perur, the protection wall of the villa collapsed on top of the house which was 12 feet deep.
