Florida Panthers are crowned the best NHL regular season team

The Florida Panthers secured the Presidents’ Trophy for the best team in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Thursday with a 4-0 away win at the Ottawa Senators.

The team from Florida also benefited from the defeat of pursuer Colorado Avalanche and can no longer be pushed out of the lead. Colorado lost 5-4 at home to the Nashville Predators in a shootout. Patrice Bergeron scored his 400th NHL goal, scoring his eighth career hat-trick in the Boston Bruins’ 5-0 win over the Buffalo Sabers.
