Florida: Veterinarians find alligator in giant python’s belly

The strangles ate a small alligator. At five feet (1.5 meters) tall, the prey is a good third of the snake’s size. The carcass is in good condition and was probably eaten by the burmese python shortly before. It is not known whether the snake died from the plentiful prey or whether the death had another cause.

Burmese python is considered an invasive species

The Burmese Python is one of the largest snakes in the world and can grow up to 7 meters long. It is native to Southeast Asia. In Florida it is considered an invasive species and a threat to the local ecosystem and is therefore released for hunting.
