Florida woman who hired hit man charged with murder

A woman residing in Miami, Florida (USA) was arrested and charged this Tuesday with the crime of first-degree murder for the death at the hands of a hit man of a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent in 2021.

The woman, Jasmine Martinez, allegedly hired an ex-convict to kill 24-year-old TSA agent Le’Shonte Jones, paying for the murder with federal funds from a PPP (Payroll Protection Program) loan she was awarded during the coronavirus pandemic, the Local 10 News channel picked up today.

In today’s court appearance, Martínez was charged with first-degree murder with a deadly weapon, among others, and remains in custody without bail.

According to the investigation, detectives tracked more than $10,000 withdrawn in cash in the days leading up to the murder, and his cell phone records show that Martinez, 33, “was in communication with Javon Carter,” the suspected perpetrator of the murder. who was arrested earlier this month.

Hours after the murder, a video found on Carter’s phone shows him counting money and saying “just another day at the office.”

Jones was shot to death last May while picking up her daughter, who was only slightly injured by the shots.

According to the investigation, Martínez had a history of threatening Jones for years, to the point that in 2018 she was accused of punching her in the face.
