Europe wants to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55 percent by 2030. The year of comparison is 1990. “Fit for 55” is the name of the program of large and complex laws with which the goal is to be achieved. However, in a special report, the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg expressed doubts that this would actually succeed. “Because there is little evidence that the measures taken so far are sufficient to achieve the climate and energy goals,” it said.
