Football: Cham-Tor cannot spoil Hütter’s Monaco debut

Adi Hütter made his debut as coach of the French first division soccer team AS Monaco with a 4-2 victory at Clermont Foot. Austro legionnaire Muhammed Cham almost ruined the party on Sunday for the Vorarlberger. The 22-year-old not only assisted to take the lead 1-0, but also made it 2-2 (53′) soon following the break, before leaving the field in the 88th minute.

Wissam Ben Yedder with his second goal and Maghnes Akliouche finally saved Monaco’s win for Hütter and his Austrian assistant coaches Christian Peintinger and Klaus Schmidt. With Philipp Köhn, Mohamed Camara and Takumi Minamino, Hütter relied on three ex-Salzburgers in the starting XI.

False starts were for Kevin Danso and surprise preseason runner-up RC Lens. At Stade Brest, a red card left the field as a 2-3 loser, the ÖFB team player played through.
