Several football clubs issued a statement in favor of the presidential candidacy of Sergio Massa and against that of Javier Milei, whom they accused of wanting to impose Sports Joint Stock Companies (SAD), instead of the civil associations that they are today.

Colón de Santa Fe, All Boys, Nueva Chicago, Comunicaciones, Argentino de Quilmes, Flandria, Juventud Unida, Defensores de Belgrano, Deportivo Morón, Tristán Suarez, Guillermo Brown from Puerto Madryn are some of the clubs that posted against the SAD.

“Club Atlético Colón says NO to the Sports Joint Stock Companies,” says the statement from the first division club of Santa Fe. While others like Gallo de Morón, from the promotion, affirm: “From Deportivo Morón we repudiate and reject the Companies Anonymous proposed by the candidate Javier Milei and we say NO to the privatization of the clubs, no to the attempt to buy our passion.”

In turn, Cristian Malaspina, president of Argentinos Juniors, publicly supported Massa’s candidacy: “No to the SAD, just remember the presence that our clubs had helping society in the pandemic.”

The official account of the Tristán Suárez club published that football leaders have “the obligation to openly support the candidacy of Sergio Massa as President of the Republic.”

“The clubs have an enormous responsibility in the support and development of the boys and girls of the neighborhoods,” continued the statement from the team that plays in the First National.

Furthermore, in the same way, Guillermo Brown from Puerto Madryn published that the SAD said no to him “in defense of our institution.” Even a false statement from Boca Juniors circulated on social networks that was widely replicated.
