Sevilla, second in the Spanish Championship, was held back by Alavés (0-0) on Friday in Vitoria at the start of the 27th day, after a disputed match in which neither team managed to shake the fillets.
The Andalusians, with one game more, remain five points behind Karim Benzema’s Real Madrid. The leader could take advantage of his home game against Real Sociedad (6th), Saturday at 9 p.m., to widen the gap. It’s the fourth time in a row that Sevilla have conceded a draw away from home.
