Football: new details on the holding of the first edition of “Ligue Ndaye Mutumbula” in Kinshasa

The first edition of Ligue Ndaye Mutumbula (LNM) will be held from August 1 to 13, 2023, in Kinshasa. This announcement was made last Wednesday during a ceremony which brought together some fifty private sector leaders and public decision-makers in the Congolese capital.

This Major International Sporting Event (GES) is an inclusive and unique street football competition that will bring together 10 teams each made up of 12 amateur players who are at least 16 years old, including a minimum of one third of women.

According to the Commissioner of the League Ndaye Mutumbula, Roger Musandji, the LNM will be organized on event sites designed to offer a localized immersive experience that promotes Congolese urban culture and will deploy a digital and audiovisual device capable of amplifying the

reach of the event by facilitating access to a pan-African and diaspora audience.

“With more than 100,000 neighborhood teams, Kinshasa is a city that breathes football. Similarly, Kinshasa is also a megalopolis of more than 5 million inhabitants whose urban culture influences the world. We see this in areas such as music or fashion.
