For heart patients, a team at Mansoura University adjusts the aortic stent with 100% Egyptian technology

The Egypt Can program, presented by the journalist Ahmed Fayek, via DMC channel, presented a report revealing the role of one of the scientific teams at Mansoura University in ending the suffering of aortic patients with a technique to modify regular stents that eliminate waiting lists.

The report indicated that the modification of the aortic stents using 100% Egyptian technology, is good news that ends the suffering of heart patients and their waiting lists.

Hossam Al-Wakeel, Director of the Center for Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Mansoura University, said that the center is the pioneer in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Middle East, and we are considered the first center specialized in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, bringing them together in one center in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

While Dr. Tamer Khafagy, Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Center for Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, added that the waiting lists project allowed us to perform multiple operations, for simple patients who could not afford the cost of these stents.

Dr. Ahmed Sameh, instructor of vascular surgery at the Center for Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, continued: “We thought that we would treat the existing stents in Egypt to match the international technology, for two reasons: the high cost and the time, because the patient needed it urgently.”
