A wine worker from Saint-Jean-d’Angély in Charente-Maritime resigned himself to pulling out an inflamed tooth himself following two weeks of pain, for lack of an available dentist near his home. The town suffers from a lack of health professionals. There are only four dentists for the 53,000 inhabitants in the intercommunality.
