For the first time – all Galaxy S22 series phones will feature an X-axis vibrator!

It is no secret that the Galaxy S22 series phones are the most phones that have been subjected to a huge number of leaks over the past year as well as during the beginning of this year.

In short, there is no shortage of Samsung Galaxy S22 leaks to the point that even its prices in US dollars and in euros have been leaked lately.

Although many specifications and features of the Galaxy S22 series phones have been leaked, there are still some subtle details that we did not get, perhaps we will know them before the series becomes official on February 9, or we may have to wait until the event.

Today we have a new leak from

One of the famous leakers on Twitter. In his tweet, the leaker confirmed that all series phones: Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature an X-axis linear motor.

This means that the new series will have better haptic feedback and vibration compared to the previous series. For folks who aren’t tech savvy or aren’t familiar enough with what we’re talking about here, smartphones feature one of two types of vibration motors: either a rotary motor or a linear axis.

The first motor (rotary axis) is the best in terms of cost and uses less space inside the phone, but it is not as good in terms of starting and stopping speed as the second motor (linear motor).

For this reason, haptic feedback from the first actuators is not very accurate. As a result, many smartphone manufacturers have started to move towards the X-axis linear actuator especially in the flagship and gaming phones category.

Linear actuators are known to be thinner but take up more space in a phone, but due to their nature, they provide much better tactile feedback and are able to perform complex and precise vibrations. So, in a nutshell, this is the best type of vibration motor.

X-axis linear actuator means that the actuator unit is parallel to the width of the phone horizontally and vibrates left and right. But some other phones have a Z-axis linear actuator that parallels the length of the phone vertically and vibrates up and down.

In practice, it is assumed that the X linear actuators provide better vibration intensity than their Z counterpart. As a reminder, Apple was the first company to use the horizontal linear actuator in the iPhone 6s series in 2015.

Similarly, Samsung also used X-axis motors last year with the Galaxy S21 Ultra. But the new news is that the Korean company is planning to use the same horizontal linear actuator with all Galaxy S22 series phones, which is certainly a welcome upgrade.

It is known that Samsung has been using rotary actuators or vertical linear actuators with Z-axis over the past years, so there have been many complaints about this problem.

So, it looks like Samsung is trying to fix this problem with its upcoming series of phones by launching an X-axis linear actuator. But of course, the improvement of the software system and the positioning of the motor unit will contribute to a significant improvement in its performance.
