The Belgian midfielder opened the scoring for the hosts early in the 20th minute of the first half.
Argentine striker Lucas Beltran equalized for the Italian team in the 85th minute from a penalty kick.
The Fiorentina team qualified for the final match, after defeating its Belgian competitor (4-3) with the aggregate score of the two-legged matches, as the Italian team had decided the result of the first-leg match in its favor by three goals to two.
The Fiorentina team, which lost the final of the last edition of the Conference League to English West Ham United (1-2), is seeking to become the second Italian team to win the championship title after Roma, which won the first edition of the competition in 2022.
Fiorentina Club will have a date in the final of the current edition, on May 29, in the Greek capital, Athens, with the winner of the confrontation in the “Golden Square” between the Greek club Olympiacos and its English guest, Aston Villa, tomorrow evening, Thursday.
The first leg between the two teams ended with Olympiacos defeating Aston Villa (4-2) in its home, last Thursday, at Villa Park in England.
