For the Storekeepers Center, March inflation was 10.4%

The Department of Statistics and Trends of the Center of Storekeepers and Retailers of the province of Córdoba registered an Inflation of 10.4% in March.

The figure, they said, shows for the third consecutive month “a marked inflationary slowdown”, equating this period to the levels of September/October 2023 (11.2% and 10.9% respectively).

In the case of “Food and non-alcoholic beverages”, the most weighted item in the Total Basic Basket, in March it registered an increase of 7.2%.

There was also a leveling off in the prices of basic foods. With the exception of beef, which suffered an increase of close to 10% and, on the contrary, white sugar, which dropped in price by 25% due to the proximity of the new harvest season, the rest of the products (excepting seasonality of fruits and vegetables) maintained their price during this month.

The items that make up the Total Basic Basket registered the following variations during March 2024:

Health: 24.6%

– Education: 24.3%

– Housing, water, electricity and other fuels: 15.7%

– Alcoholic beverages and tobacco: 13.5%

-Clothing and footwear: 10.7%

– Miscellaneous goods and services: 9.6%

– Recreation and culture: 9.3%

-Home equipment and maintenance: 8.7%

-Foods and non-alcoholic drinks: 7.2%

-Transportation and communications: 6.6%

-Restaurants and hotels: 6.2%

Thus, interannual inflation amounts to 347% and the accumulated inflation during the first quarter of 2024 is 57%.
