This Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Internet users who commented on Zone Interdite on twitter did not hide their boredom with the report “Fiesta, traditions and crazy competitions: the French love village festivals”. Between combine harvester races, cheese competitions, or even pig cries, the twittos were rather hallucinated in the face of the proposed immersions.

For this new summer issue, Restricted zone was interested this Tuesday evening in the most picturesque French festivals. Presented by Ophelie Meunier, the M6 magazine spotlighted four village festivals and traditions: Among them, the Brou combine harvester race near Chartres. Baptized the “Moiss batt cross”, this spectacular race is contested using old machines launched at high speed and authorized to play “dodgem cars” on the track. For the first time, women could compete. Zone Interdite thus followed Marie and Emilie, who gave everything to complete as many laps as possible in ten minutes, even if it meant risking going off the track or getting into a pileup…

The journalists of Restricted zone also covered the Picodon festival in Saoû in Drôme, goat cheese AOP, at the end of which the gold medal is awarded each year. As well as the parade of floats for the feast of the Lavender in Digne les Bains. In this town in the Alpes de Haute-Provence, Lionel, a tattoo artist fresh from Marseille, took part in the festivities for the first time. The man and his friends have invested more than 4000 euros to make a tank in the colors of the Rolling Stones.

Finally, viewers were able to discover La “Pourcailhade” in Trie-sur-Baïse in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Each year, the pig is celebrated there through competitions, each more wacky than the other: that of the biggest pudding eater, the throwing of a stuffed piglet, or even the best pig cry imitator. Nine times world champion in the discipline and five times winner of the Trie-sur-Baïse competition, Noël Jamet, public works driver, put his title back on the line. And the matter is serious! The cameras of the show showed him a few days earlier at home, in full training on all fours in the living room, under the encouragement of his companion Béatrice.

On D-Day, the man decided to surprise his fans with a new self-made sow costume. And without much surprise, won a sixth title at the end of the competition. On twitter, the devouring passion of this son of farmers has been rather misunderstood.

In general, the little stories of the day did not seem to fascinate the crowds. The twittos were not particularly affected by the celebrations deemed a little too specific. Some have even gone so far as to regret the famous reports on campsites and amusement parks, which many consider repetitive. When they didn’t prefer to zap…
