Ford filed a bizarre patent application, they can exclude you from your car

Ford’s latest patent filing shows a bizarre new way to block cars in the future if owners don’t make their car payments on time.

The patent application, about which the The Drive reported, was submitted in August 2021 but was only published last week. It turns out that Ford is thinking about building a system that would allow the car to foreclose on its driver if he doesn’t pay the car’s installments properly.

According to Ford, thanks to the system, owners who have missed payments cannot escape the payment obligation or the car’s repossess.

In the patent application, Ford writes that they would cause inconvenience to the driver by disabling certain functions in the car if they do not pay on time. The new system can disable things like cruise control, GPS, air conditioning and radio. The computer could also encourage the car to “incessant and unpleasant sound” issue while driving.

If the owner still doesn’t respond to the warning about missing payments, the computer raises the stake. The car can foreclose on its owner. One idea is that the computer could only request a driver’s disqualification on the weekend so it doesn’t affect the owner’s commute to work to earn money for the “for vehicle payments’.

If the owner is still behind on payments, the car may take drastic action. You can even drive yourself to a repossession agency, credit institution or car dealership using the self-driving function.
