The measure concerns the models Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator from the years 2015 to 2017.
The automaker said it has been notified of fires that resulted in damage to the vehicle, as well as a minor injury in one case.
Ford will contact the owners of the affected vehicles from September 12.
