Foreigners over 60 in Kuwait can renew their residence permit by paying an additional fee

Kuwait City: Foreigners over 60 can now relax in Kuwait. The residence permit can be renewed by paying an additional fee with conditions. The order was issued at a meeting chaired by Manpower Public Authority chief and Minister of Commerce Jamal al-Jalawi. After more than a year of negotiations, it was decided to pay an additional fee of 250 dinars to foreigners without a degree above the age of 60, to make private health insurance compulsory and to renew work permits.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Manpower Authority Board of Directors chaired by Commerce Minister and Manpower Public Authority Chairman Jamal Al Jalawi. This is expected to put an end to the year-long uncertainty on the issue. In the case of those over the age of 60, it is now possible to take comfort in the fact that decisions have been reversed.
