The Senapred declared a red alert in Constitución for the forest fire called “Las Chacarillas 2”which is still in combat on the way out of the city.
According to the preliminary report from Conaf, the incident affects an area of five hectaresand is located near inhabited areas.
The authorities noted that it is characterized by a “extreme behavioremission of sparkles and imminent threat to peoplehomes, populated centers and/or critical infrastructure“.
At the moment, personnel from the Constitución Fire Department, a Conaf brigade and two from Forestal Arauco are working in the affected area.
