Sad news comes from the world of Indonesian comedy. Comedian Christian Barata Nugraha or more familiarly known as Polo died on Wednesday (6/3) afternoon in Bekasi, West Java. The former Srimulat comedian died at the age of 61.
“Innalillahi wainnailaihi rojiun, our brother Mas Brata Nugraha or better known as Mas Polo Srimulat has passed away this afternoon in Bekasi,” said Head of Parfi Public Relations, Evry Joe, in a short message, Wednesday.
In his condolence speech, Evry Joe expressed his deep sorrow and prayed for the deceased to pass away in peace. “Please pray that Mr. Polo may pass away before the Almighty God in peace, pass away with husnul khatimah and be accepted for all his good deeds and be forgiven of his sins,” he said.
“As the Head of Public Relations of Parfi (All Indonesian Film Artists Association), who is also his friend, I would like to express my deepest condolences for his passing,” he added.
Apart from that, he said that Polo’s service in the country’s comedy industry was so impressive that it could become a charity that continues to provide for the deceased. “Goodbye, Mas Polo. May your work become a field for charity. Amen, rabbal alamin,” he said.
Polo died at the age of 61 years at Ana Medika Hospital, Bekasi, West Java, at 12.10 WIB. Previously, Polo was rushed to hospital due to lung disease.
During his career, this senior comedian was not only active in the Srimulat comedy group. He has appeared in several films such as Jodoh Kau Kutangkap (2011) and Mystery Pasar Kaget (2012). (Ant/Z-2)
