A former local high school football star was involved in handing the New York Jets another loss on Thursday night.
Ronnie Hickman, who grew up in South Orange and starred at DePaul, scored on a 30-yard interception return in the first quarter of the Cleveland Browns’ 37-20 win over the Jets.
Hickman was a high school All-American and also a star in lacrosse. He went on to play football at Ohio State, where he overcame a slew of injuries.
He went undrafted before signing with the Browns. He’s played in nine games for Cleveland, making 22 tackles, and Thursday’s interception of Trevor Siemian was the first of his career.
