Through interviews with people involved, it has been learned that the Japan Restoration Association has decided to cancel its nomination of former Kyoto city assembly member Yoshie Murayama, who has announced his candidacy in the Kyoto mayoral election to be counted next month.

Last November, the Japan Restoration Association decided to recommend Mr. Murayama in the Kyoto City mayoral election to be counted on the 4th of next month, and Representative Baba was present at the press conference announcing his candidacy.

However, interviews with multiple people involved revealed that the Nippon Ishin no Kai has decided to cancel its recommendation regarding Mr. Murayama.

It appears that issues surrounding Mr. Murayama’s political funds have come to light, and the Ishin side is expected to reveal the reason for the cancellation soon.

In addition to Ishin, the Kyoto Prefecture Federation of the Democratic Party of Japan, the Association for Realizing Free Education, and the regional political party Kyoto Party have announced their endorsement of Murayama.
