Former Osceola County Pastor Sentenced to 30 Years for Sexual Battery Against Congregant
An Osceola County judge sentenced former pastor Eddy Noelsaint, 54, to 30 years in prison on Friday for repeatedly raping a female congregant who sought him out for spiritual guidance. Judge Hal Epperson handed down the sentence following a trial conviction on two counts of sexual battery, rejecting the defendant’s claims of innocence.
The case, prosecuted under State Attorney Monique Worrell, unfolded across two separate attacks in July and November 2022. According to the arrest affidavit, the victim initially visited Noelsaint’s home under the impression she was undergoing a spiritual revival connected to her cultural and religious beliefs.
The Anatomy of a Betrayal: Drugging and Coercion in 2022
During the July 2022 visit, court documents show Noelsaint offered to bathe the victim in the shower, an offer she refused. He then boiled tea for her. After drinking it, the victim grew ill, experienced an elevated heart rate, developed a headache, and felt sleepy after Noelsaint gave her a total of four pills.
When the victim asked to call 911, Noelsaint avoided her request, moved her to a separate guest room, and sexually battered her as she attempted to call for help. In November 2022, Noelsaint lured her back to the home under the false pretext of meeting his wife. When the victim arrived, Noelsaint appeared in the living room completely naked. As she struggled to operate the mechanism holding a sliding glass door closed, Noelsaint grabbed her, threw her onto a couch, overpowered her, and dragged her into a bedroom to sexually batter her again.
State Attorney Monique Worrell addressed reporters during a Friday afternoon press conference. Worrell emphasized the rationale behind the state’s push for heavy accountability. “When we see an offense this egregious, our goal is to incapacitate that individual so that they can never harm anyone again,” Worrell said.
Defiance in the Courtroom and the Final Verdict
During Friday’s sentencing hearing, the survivor spoke through a Creole interpreter, detailing the devastating psychological toll of the past four years. “I couldn’t concentrate to go to work,” the victim told the court. “Because I was crying when I went to work.” She described feelings of isolation and thoughts of suicide stemming from the trauma.
Despite the conviction, Noelsaint remained defiant. Speaking through the Creole interpreter before Judge Epperson, Noelsaint insisted he was innocent and claimed, “She was suffering from hysteria.” He urged the judge to review two WhatsApp recordings that he argued would exonerate him. While prosecutor Jennifer Synnamon and the defense acknowledged the recordings existed, the defense had opted not to introduce them during the trial.
Judge Epperson ultimately sentenced Noelsaint to 30 years in prison on each count of sexual battery, to be served concurrently. While the prosecution had asked for consecutive sentences totaling 60 years, the 30-year prison term ensures the former pastor will spend decades behind bars.

Prosecutor Jennifer Synnamon reflected on the profound violation inherent in the case after the hearing concluded. “He absolutely betrayed something so precious as faith,” Synnamon noted. “Thirty years consecutive as to each count is not even coming close to the amount of time that the victim in this case is going to need to try to heal. Her scars are forever.”
