Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Former Station House Officer of Ayirur Police Station R. Jayasanil was dismissed from service. The dismissal order came amid an investigation by the State Crime Branch into a case registered following allegations of sexual harassment of a detainee.

Jaysanil is currently under suspension pending investigation. A 27-year-old accused in the POCSO case was called to Jayasanil quarters and subjected to unnatural torture, saying that he would be released from the case. The young man was accused in the case of molesting a 17-year-old girl whom he met through social media. The young man had told his relatives that he was a victim of torture.
