New York, Honduras.

Former President Juan Orlando Hernández appeared once once more in front of Judge Kevin Castel in the Southern District Court of New York before his trial for drug trafficking.

According to journalist Matthew Russell Lee, ‘JOH’, as he is popularly known, entered in chains and remained in the jury box.

There were also new potential lawyers in the room, since he requested days ago that his defense team receive support from a public official.

“The Department of Justice has suggested JOH get a second attorney and would be fine with a brief delay in trial. But will Judge Castel approve it? There are eight defense attorneys here, some of them apparently to be named today. Who can JOH get? How much time might new attorneys ask for to prepare?” Russell said.
