Former prosecutor Virginia Laparra presented her arguments before the Second Chamber of Appeals with which she seeks to annul the sentence handed down against her for the crime of abuse of authority.
The magistrates of the Second Chamber of Appeals heard on Tuesday the arguments of the defense and of the former prosecutor Virginia Laparra who, through an appeal, seeks to annul the sentence of four years in prison for the crime of abuse of authority, which was imposed by the Eighth Court of Criminal Sentencing considering that he is responsible for having abused the power that his position gave him and issuing a complaint against the now rapporteur against torture Lester Castellanos.
After listening to all the arguments, it is expected that on May 9 the magistrates will give their sentence and determine whether or not Laparra’s request is accepted.
