MORELOS.- Jerónimo Bernal Soliveras, former general director of the Tequesquitengo Lake Trust during the Graco Ramírez Garrido Abreu government, was arrested by elements of the Morelos Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, accused of improper exercise of public service and influence peddling.
Since 2016, he was accused of obtaining million-dollar contracts from the state government of which he is an official and that benefited companies in which he is a shareholder. The companies Berso Edificavciones SA de CV and Tekarq SA de CV competed and obtained public works in Morelos during his management as owner of the Trust.
The contracts were awarded by two agencies: the State Water Commission under the command of Juan Carlos Valencia Vargas and the Ministry of Public Works, led by Patricia Izquierdo Medina, who was detained for 6 months accused of diversion of public resources and the exercise improper public service.
El Financiero in October 2016 documented that “some of the contracts that were awarded to him are signed by Bernal Soliveras himself, already as a public official and in his capacity as “sole administrator” of his companies – in others the signature is that of his father. or one of its employees–, such as the number SOP-SSES-DGN-LPF-012/2014, dated October 31, 2014, granted to Berso Edificacións, SA de CV, for the amount of 17 million 200 thousand 405 pesos and 45 cents, and whose objective was the “construction of the Antonio Rivapalacio López Shopping Center, Benito Juárez market and Margarita Maza de Juárez market.”
In 2019, as part of the investigations by the Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo government, he was accused of having diverted around 200 million pesos and was reported for illicit enrichment, abuse of authority, influence peddling and abusive use of powers.
He is considered close to Rodrigo Gayosso Cepeda, stepson of former governor Graco Ramírez Garrido Abreu, who ranked him as a senior official.
The Tequesquitengo Lake Trust is an auxiliary organization of the public administration of the State of Morelos whose purposes are to promote the tourist development of Tequesquitengo Lake, and is dedicated to the division and sale of urbanized lots, as well as the constitution of ejidal tourism companies. , promoting the regularization of land ownership in said area for bona fide holders.
Since its creation with Governor Armando León Bejarano, in the 1980s, it has always been identified as a space for corruption.
