Formnext is almost at 2022 level

Two months before the start, 771 exhibitors have already registered for Formnext 2023. They have signed up for more than 50,000 m2 of exhibition space. This means that the figures are almost at last year’s level.

Sacha F. Wenzler, Vice President Formnext at trade fair organizer Messago, is satisfied with these figures. “Even in economically challenging times, additive manufacturing plays a prominent role in the development of industrial production.” He attributes this to the competitive advantage that industrial 3D printing offers. And that is exactly the focus of Formnext, where you as a visitor will find the right partners for this.

So far, 771 exhibitors have registered for the AM fair

Scandinavia is a partner country this year. In Sweden, bearing manufacturer SKF, among others, uses additive manufacturing and took over the Belgian LCV last year.

More international than ever

Formnext 2023 will be more international than the previous editions. Currently, more than 60 percent of exhibitors come from outside Germany. In terms of country pavilions, Canada Makes is participating for the first time, as is Australia. The Scandinavian countries are partner countries this year. The Nordic pavilion at the fair features a large number of AM companies and knowledge institutes from the Scandinavian countries. Here, the potential of AM is highlighted in applications in the oil and gas industry, fish farms, the maritime industry and other sectors.

Marketplace for 3D printing service providers

This year the fair will reserve a special place for AM service providers. This time, the 3D printing companies that work for third parties are listed in the new Service Provider Marketplace part of Formnext. This is organized together with Daimler Truck and Buses. Service providers show applications for the automotive industry here. OEMs such as Daimler Buses and Brose show how they have integrated additive manufacturing into their business processes.

New conference program on 3 stages

This year, Formnext has opted for a new format for the conference programme. There are three stages, each with its own theme: Industry Stage, Application Stage and Technology Stage. The stages are spread across the halls. The start up challenge is taking place for the ninth time. And VDMA’s AM Working Group will demonstrate applications from the machining industry at the fair. The BE-AM showcase will show a real-life application from the construction industry. The trends and new developments of AM for the construction world are explained in a symposium
