No chance for Germany
Sebastian Vettel has faced the Sports Illustrated expressed about the prospects of a German Grand Prix and therefore cannot give the fans high hopes:
“I think we won’t see a Grand Prix in Germany for a long time. I think it’s a shame, but I understand why. A Formula 1 race is very expensive for the respective country. The decisive pressure from the German automotive industry may also be missing . This is stupid for fans.”
Although he doesn’t have a patent recipe for how to get everything back in the right direction, he did talk about other reasons why motorsport is simply more difficult in this country compared to other sports:
“Motorsport has become too expensive and therefore too exclusive. Perhaps the lack of interest leads to a lack of financial resources from sponsors or the industry to encourage young talent here.”
Perhaps Audi’s entry in 2026, Tim Tramnitz in the Red Bull talent factory or a return of Mick Schumacher in the next few years can ensure a renewed Formula 1 boom in Germany.

The USA Grand Prix is coming up Sophie Affeldt check out our deputy editor-in-chief Stefan Ehlen and ahead of me. Bustamante in the McLaren
Bianca Bustamante was introduced yesterday as the first woman to represent an active Formula 1 racing team for the F1 Academy 2024. She will also be part of the McLaren junior program.
Bustamante, like the entire F1 Academy, will drive the season finale as part of Formula 1 in Austin this weekend. Next season, the women’s racing series will be a permanent part of the supporting program and each team will field a car in the racing team’s colors along with a female driver to be supported.
The 18-year-old Filipino is full of anticipation:
“This is such an incredible moment in my career. Signing with McLaren and ART Grand Prix is beyond anything I could have ever imagined when I was racing karts in the Philippines. I still find it difficult to keep my name associated with McLaren without getting emotional, because the history and legacy of this team really leaves me speechless.
I am so grateful for this opportunity because I believe that I now have the best possible development structure around me to take the next step in my career and I am very grateful for that.”

Better than Senna?
Gerhard Berger and Christian Danner experienced Ayrton Senna up close and also drove with and against him. Berger himself was a good friend of the Brazilian Formula 1 legend and also had many conversations with him off the track.
In the Hello TV-Broadcast Sports and talk from Hangar-7 Gerhard Berger gave Max Verstappen a knighthood because he thinks that the three-time world champion is not only on the same level as Senna, but also a bit above it – and that’s saying something!

Leather look for Austin
Guanyu Zhou may not be the most successful, fastest or best driver in the current Formula 1 field, but his special helmet designs are, in my opinion, some of the best!
The Chinese also came up with something for Austin. Since Texas is the country of cowboys and leather plays a key role in their clothing choices, there is a helmet with a sensational leather look.
I recommend that you scroll through the pictures and then take a close look at the close-ups. You could really think that real leather was put on the helmet. Insanely cool!
