Season 9 of the Formula E World Championship is coming to an end, with only two race weekends left: this week we’re heading to Rome for a double headersince two E-Prix in the space of 24 hours await the 22 pilots at the start.

This Sunday, RTBF and Auvio invite you to follow the second E-Prix de Rome from 2:45 p.m.

Present in Group A of the qualifying session, Stoffel Vandoorne (DS Penske) set the ninth fastest time and failed to reach the quarter-final stage. The Belgian driver will start from 18th place on the starting grid.

Pole position went to the Briton Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti), who will start just ahead of his main rival in the race for the world title, the New Zealander Nick Cassidy (Envision Racing).

Eleventh Saturday on the first of the two E-Prix scheduled in the Eternal City, Stoffel Vandoorne hopes, however, to find colors on a track which saw him collect the first podium of his career in FE in 2019, then one of his three victories (2021) as well as two pole positions (2021 and 2022).

The DS Penske driver, who is chasing a first podium this season with his new team, will in any case have a good shot at a track he knows by heart.

The outgoing World Champion, who has long given up on a new title, will be watching the battle for his succession with a keen eye: the New Zealander Nick Cassidyleader with 171 points and second on Saturday, is only 2 lengths ahead of the Briton Jake Dennis.

The other New Zealander on the set, Mitch Evans (Jaguar Racing), winner on Saturday, is 20 points behind his compatriot.
