Four Britons win U.S. Open main draw

Britain’s Billy Harris, Jen Choinski, Sonai Kartar and Lily Miyazaki won their second qualifying rounds and are one win away from reaching the main draw of the U.S. Open.

Harris easily defeated Bolivian player Murkel Dellien 6-1 6-3, while Choinski was forced to withdraw after French-Monegasque Valentin Vacherot was injured. Break.

Previously, Kartal defeated Switzerland’s Simone Walter 6-3 6-2, while Miyazaki defeated Liechtenstein’s Kasinka von Deichmann 1-6 6-2 6-2.

However, Heather Watson, Paul Jab and Francesca Jones all failed.
