Four dead in Pakistan police checkpoint attack

At least four people were killed in an attack on a police checkpoint in the Pakistani province of Baluchistan. As a provincial authority spokesman announced on Sunday, attackers detonated a hand grenade. Three police officers were among the victims of the attack on Sunday night. The background to the crime initially remained unclear.

In Baluchistan in the south-west of the country there are repeated attacks. In addition to militant Islamists, attacks are also coming from separatists who are demanding more autonomy for the resource-rich province.
