Four injured after machete attack in Vancouver

A suspect was arrested following a machete attack that left four seriously injured late Saturday night in an apartment building in Vancouver’s Granville neighborhood.

The machete attack took place around 10 p.m. inside a building of single rooms, located near Granville and Smithe streets.

“The man then attacked and stabbed four people inside the building. When officers arrived, they were confronted by the suspect who was still armed with the weapon. Shots were fired by police and the suspect was injured,” the police department said in a statement released on Sunday.

The suspect was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The four victims of the machete attack were also taken to hospital with serious injuries. We fear for their lives.
