Four medical students denounce the UCLM –

Four students from the Faculty of Medicine of Ciudad Real have decided to file a complaint with the Administrative Court of Ciudad Real against the decision of the University of Castilla-La Mancha to force them to continue their university degree in Toledo.

In a press release released this Saturday, these university students have indicated that they have decided to make this decision after the rectory of the UCLM forces them to continue their academic training in Toledo after having completed the first two years at the Faculty of Medicine of Real city.

They have affirmed that the decision was made against their will and in a process “full of irregularities and that is affecting them greatly in all areas.”

Since September 2021, the student body affected by the Ciudad Real-Toledo itinerary of the Ciudad Real Faculty of Medicine has been mobilizing to ensure that students who do not wish to do so are not sent to study the third to sixth year of Medicine at the Complex Toledo University Hospital.

The problem arose when carrying out the pre-registration for access to the degree, carried out in July 2021, since there was a box in which the possible itineraries were assigned, including Toledo, something that went unnoticed by the students.

In the meetings held with the Office of the Vice President for Health Sciences, which is the competent authority, this problem has been addressed and, according to the students’ press release, the conclusion has been reached that the transfer of students has been mismanaged and that beneficial solutions should be provided for the student body.

However, the UCLM continues to “force” four students to take the following courses in Toledo, they have denounced.
