With relatively little time left to know the next generation of iPhones, the Foxconn — one of Apple’s biggest partners in product manufacturing — is offering some benefits to employees who are on the front lines of producing new models.
On initiative, that according to South China Morning Post enlists new factory workers in Zhengzhou, capital of Honan province, will enable them to earn a bonus up to 3,000 yuan (over R$2,100) for at least three months, plus an hourly pay of 21 yuan (about R$15). During this period, the production of the new models should already be at full steam. The information was disclosed in a post on WeChat last Saturday.
This can prevent a shortage of new devices around the world, a scenario seen last year with delays and long delivery times for Pro models due to lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, current workers in the same factory will also be able to receive raises by referring new professionals — even if it is relatively smaller, according to 500 yuan (about R$350).
The Zhengzhou factory, it is worth noting, is gigantic—capable of housing some 200,000 workers.
