Vienna – The FPÖ has now decided not to support the coalition’s rent cap and thus not to provide any votes for a constitutional majority. The ÖVP has no genuine interest in really shaping housing policy for people, said building spokesman Philipp Schrangl in a broadcast on Tuesday. The draft is “out of the question, an attack on social housing and a gift to real estate speculators.” The SPÖ also remains critical.
