Vienna (OTS) – In view of the terrible and still ongoing storms in many parts of Austria, especially Carinthia and Styria, FPÖ federal party chairman calls club chairman NAbg. Herbert Kickl Immediate and unbureaucratic help for the victims. “I am very curious to see how long it will be before the Federal President, Federal Chancellor and the responsible politicians at federal and state level assure those affected that their damage will be fully compensated. Everything was ready overnight for the Ukrainians affected by the war, now it has to happen just as quickly. But it looks like the Federal President and the responsible politicians from the Federal Chancellor down are once again ignominiously letting the needy Austrians down,” criticized Kickl.
Unfortunately, this allegation is confirmed once again. “More than a year ago, after the devastating storms in the Carinthian valley, the FPÖ submitted comprehensive applications to the National Council, which aimed both at immediate aid for those affected by this disaster and, in general, at full compensation for financial damage to those affected by storm disasters. The reality is, however, that these motions have not even been put on the agenda of the responsible finance committee to date. This is how the black-green government parties deal with Austrian disaster victims,” criticized Kickl.
It is a fact that the disaster fund always only covers a part of the damage and that the insurance companies also drop out in many cases. “It is therefore long overdue that both at the federal level and at the level of the provincial governors in disaster relief, nails are finally made,” demanded the FPÖ chairman. This also includes a special investment package from the federal government recently requested by the Carinthian Freedom Party to enable the voluntary fire brigades and other emergency organizations to purchase urgently needed vehicles and special equipment for civil protection.
“In these difficult times, I have my fullest sympathy for those affected and I promise to fight with all our political strength for fair and thus complete compensation for the damage caused. My deepest thanks and respect go to the emergency services and to everyone else who voluntarily and tirelessly provides help to the victims during these difficult hours. You are all our irreplaceable heroes on days like these, when terrible storms are sweeping our country and wreaking terrible havoc,” said Herbert Kickl.
