FPÖ online petition “No sending soldiers from Austria and other EU states to the Ukraine war”

Vienna (OTS) – “The EU really doesn’t need its own army under Brussels command. Almost every day, NEOS’s leading candidate for the EU election, Brandstätter, is calling for the creation of such a European army. “We vehemently reject such a request because we don’t want any commissioner in Brussels to decide in the future where our soldiers have to fight and go to war,” said FPÖ European spokeswoman and candidate for the EU election NAbg today. Petra Steger.

“In general, the NEOS don’t care about our constitution, sovereignty and neutrality. Brandstätter in particular seems to want the arms industry to be further stimulated and Austria to be drawn ever deeper into a war. “Austria and our neutrality must be protected from such policies and such crude visions of the future,” emphasized Steger, who responded to the FPÖ petition “No sending of soldiers from Austria and other EU states to the Ukraine war!”, which was introduced in parliament pointed out: “The negligent twisting of the escalation spiral endangers the security of Austria and our population and must therefore come to an end.”

“After the Ukraine summit in Paris at the beginning of this week, French President Macron no longer wanted to rule out sending Western troops to Ukraine. We therefore launched a petition against the deployment of such troops – signed by all liberal MPs – in the National Council last Wednesday. The representatives of the other parties should examine themselves and consider what catastrophic consequences, including nuclear war, this could have. “But the petition was not signed by a single MP from the ÖVP, SPÖ, Greens and NEOS,” explained Steger.

The online petition can be submitted at be signed.
