Vienna (OTS) – The liberal delegation leader in the European Parliament, Harald Vilimsky, described the appearance of the head of the European People’s Party (EPP), Manfred Weber, in today’s ORF press hour as the “worst form of polemic”. “While Weber presents himself as a politician of the center and of reason, he forgets the fact that he and his EPP have been responsible for the insane left-wing course in the EU in recent years,” emphasized Vilimsky. He pointed out the many wrongdoings that have occurred at European level under the leadership of the European People’s Party. “Weber sometimes rolled out the red carpet for the left and was responsible for projects such as the unspeakable Green Deal, the crazy EU migration pact including a distribution mechanism or a debt policy,” said the liberal delegation leader. “Now he presents himself as a mediator and a politician of reason, while representing the most radical form of Eurocentrism and is one of the most fanatical representatives when it comes to creating competences in Brussels,” emphasized Vilimsky
For him it is clear that Weber’s “crazy left-wing course” will be continued in the next legislative period, to which the Austrian People’s Party also made a decisive contribution. “One must not forget that the ÖVP has supported this left-wing course for years and has pursued an open-door policy in matters such as asylum and migration, and also supported the left-wing Green Deal, which, among other things, has permanently destroyed the European economy and industry “, criticized the liberal EU MP and continued that “a vote for the ÖVP is a vote for this left-wing course”.
Vilimsky was surprised that Weber was given a platform in the ORF press hour and polemicized against the FPÖ and its partner parties. “When Weber indirectly calls the head of the largest opposition party in Austria a ‘skunk’, you not only see the level to which the head of the European People’s Party stoops, but it is also an impudence of a special class,” criticized the liberal delegation leader. “I also wonder whether there is also an invitation from the ORF for a representative of the ID, or whether Weber has been given an exclusive platform here to present his wisdom in Austria,” emphasized Vilimsky.
