PARIS (AP) — France was planning the imminent evacuation of those trying to leave Niger following last week’s coup in the former French colony, the French Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
In a brief statement to The Associated Press, the ministry said that “an evacuation is being prepared” and that it “will happen quickly.”
The ministry did not immediately provide further details.
