“I’m not going to give you a number, because you are going to make a title out of it. But a large part (Editor’s note: players present at this gathering) will be there if there are no physical glitches. Didier Deschamps made no secret after the victory against Sweden (4-2). The coach already has a large part of the list of players who will be present for Euro 2021 (June 11 to July 11) in mind. Unless physical problems or a big drop in blood pressure, at least 14 players are guaranteed to participate in the next European Championship where the French will be opposed in group F to Germany to Hungary and Portugal, on June 15, 19 and 23 .
This is all the more true as the staff of the Blues will not really have the time to carry out new tests in March 2021. The next international window indeed coincides with the first three qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup ( March 25, 28 and 31), the drawing of which takes place on December 7. Deschamps will therefore logically rely on his executives, and we can consider that Marcus Thuram, summoned during this month of November, is certainly the last “test” of the coach.
Those who are sure to go
It is not really difficult to list the 14 players who are almost guaranteed to participate in the next Euro 2021. The 2018 world champions form the bulk of the future elected. We find Lloris, Mandanda, Pavard, Kimpembe, Varane, Hernandez, Pogba, Kanté, Griezmann, Mbappé and Giroud. For the latter, his already starving playing time with Chelsea would have to be reduced to nothing for him not to be there.

To these, we must add Rabiot who has conquered his stripes of holders during the last three gatherings, and certainly Irreproachable Digne for many months. Finally Lenglet, doubled by Kimpembe this year but without demerit, should also be on the trip.
Those who are in favorable waivers
Number 3 in the hierarchy of goalkeepers, Maigan performing with Lille put all the chances on his side to participate in his first major international competition. Ditto for Dubois, Pavard’s understudy, who has no real competition for his right-back position. Sarr and Aguilar really go a long way, and Sidibé has disappeared from the international landscape.
In the midfield, if they maintain their current level with their respective clubs, Camavinga and Tolisso have no reason to be forgotten on the list. Finally in attack, Ben Yedder, Martial or Coman have proven during their last outings that they are solid alternatives to the attacking trio in place.
Those who are considered outsiders
Often called in case of failure or in the extended lists, Costil is today the number 4 of the French goalkeepers. In central defense, Zouma and Upamecano will play a place as long as Umtiti does not find an international level. At the left-back position, Ferland Mendy fell behind Digne, but he can also help out on the right side, which can be interesting.
In the middle, Nzonzi, Sissoko or Aouar are the natural candidates for the last (or the) last places. Finally in attack, Thuram showed all his potential during this November rally and it would not be a surprise to see him point the tip of his nose. What is a little less the case of Fekir or Dembélé, if it came to the idea of the latter to finally find all his potential.
