Frances Bean Cobain: Emotional words on 30th birthday

“30!!! I did it! Honestly, 20-year-old Frances wasn’t sure if that was going to happen,” Cobain and Love’s daughter wrote in her post, to which she included several snaps of herself and her loved ones.

“At the time, an intrinsic feeling of deep self-loathing dictated by insecurity, destructive coping mechanisms, and more trauma than my body or brain could handle was affecting how I saw myself and the world: through a lens of resentment,” wrote Frances Bean, who who retired from social media for a year in 2021, about her previous mental health struggles. “To be brought into a life that seemed to attract so much chaos and the kind of pain that came with grief that felt inevitable,” she wrote, probably referring to her father’s tragic death. Frances was just one year old when Kurt Cobain committed suicide at the age of 27.
