France’s government narrowly survives no-confidence vote – France

Paris – Breathe a sigh of relief in the Elysée Palace: The united opposition to the pension reform has failed to bring down the government. The opponents of reform were nine votes short of a majority of 287 votes in the 577-strong National Assembly. A second motion of no confidence, supported solely by the right-wing populists, stood no chance from the start.
