Franceschi Chocolates takes the best

The Venezuelan Academy of Gastronomy announced, on the night of Wednesday, November 23, the winners of the Tenedor de Oro awards, the most prestigious awards in Venezuela in this sector.

The Golden Fork grand prize went to Franceschi Chocolates, while the Practicing Chef Golden Fork went to Jose Boys, young Venezuelan chef who has developed his career internationally, in countries like Panama, Peru and Colombia and who stands out for his creativity. He has worked with great chefs such as the Peruvian Pedro Schiaffino and the Basque Martín Berasategui and is now in charge of Avant Bistró, in Caracas.

The Armando Scannone award, which highlights the chef who works for Venezuelan flavors, went to the man from Merida, who lives in Zulia, Daniel Molina.

Lara and Yaracuy

The best gastronomic publication of 2022 was, in the opinion of the members of the Academy and invited juries, the recently published A Bite of the World, a compilation of gastronomic texts by the researcher Juan Alonso Molinawho has focused on the flavors of Lara and Yaracuy.

Of the four mentions awarded by the Gold Fork, in this 2022 three of them were also for Lara and Yaracuy. In the latter state, the winners were Cocinas Patrimoniales de Yaracuy and the master baker Nelson “Pocho” Suárez. The mention of Lara was for the Venezuelan Association of Breeders of Carora.

The Yaracuyan winners of the mentions were Cocinas Patrimoniales de Yaracuy and the master baker Nelson “Pocho” Suárez.

The other recipient of the Gold Fork Mention was Arepas Hermanos Moya, in Nueva Esparta.
