RTL presenter Günther Jauch (67) spoke regarding his contact with the football emperor as part of the big memorial service for Franz Beckenbauer (†78).

When the official part in the Allianz Arena was over, Jauch explained in conversation with Florian König and Lothar Matthäus: “I always tried to keep in touch. I always wrote him happy birthday.”

During his emotional speech, Hoeneß made an anti-AfD statement

The TV star said: “Now for Christmas the card came with the signatures of all the children and of course him.”

And further: “But then you noticed that he might no longer sign himself. That’s when I knew he wasn’t feeling too well anymore.”

Beckenbauer died a week ago at the age of 78.

During the funeral service, the life’s work of the emperor was honored, who was considered a lucky child until the far too early death of his son Stephan in 2015 and the final years of his life that were marked by illness.
