RTL presenter Günther Jauch (67) spoke about his contact with the football emperor as part of the big memorial service for Franz Beckenbauer (†78).
When the official part in the Allianz Arena was over, Jauch explained in conversation with Florian König and Lothar Matthäus: “I always tried to keep in touch. I always wrote him happy birthday.”

Beckenbauer died a week ago at the age of 78.
During the funeral service, the life’s work of the emperor was honored, who was considered a lucky child until the far too early death of his son Stephan in 2015 and the final years of his life that were marked by illness.
