Frédéric Antonetti will become the next coach of Strasbourg

The interim of Mathieu Le Scornet has come to an end. Beaten in Lille on Sunday (0-2), Julien Stéphan’s former assistant will be replaced by Frédéric Antonetti. The 61-year-old Corsican technician, free of any contract, should sign an 18-month contract with Racing, which he might therefore lead to L2 in the event of relegation. Expected Monday evening in Strasbourg, he arrives in Alsace for the maintenance mission with his deputy Benoît Tavenot. Antonetti will conduct his first practice on Tuesday. He replaces Le Scornet, who led six matches (three defeats, two wins, one draw), and who should stay at the club.

Antonetti has been a coach since 1994. He coached Bastia (1994-1998 then 1999-2001), Gamba Osaka (Japan, 1998-1999), Saint-Etienne (2001-2004), Nice (2005-2009), Rennes (2009 -2013), Lille (2015-2016) and Metz (2018 then 2020-2022), his last club.
