French Montana makes a double story by becoming the first African + Bronx native artist to receive the RIAA Diamond

French Montana made a double history in music, not only for his native African roots, but also for simply being from the Bronx boogie-down.

It seems that French Montana is doing a double story.

He is now the first African artist and Bronx native to successfully receive an RIAA Diamond certification within the music industry for “Unforgettable” in 2017.

The “Unforgettable” rapper posted a photo on Twitter to illustrate his new RIAA Diamond plaque.

The caption read:

“It’s not regular. GOD IS BIG”

Additionally, French celebrated a dinner with an intimate group of people to present the plaque.

The plaque proudly represents the 10 million units sold of the hit single.

The music video for the song was shot in Kampala, Uganda.

French Montana is not the only one to receive this recognition.

Nick Minaj recently became the owner of the RIAA Diamond plaque for her hit “Super Bass”.
