‘Frenzy party’ Finnish prime minister, this time suspected of having an affair? Take a drug test

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, the prime minister of Finland, said on the 19th (local time) that he had undergone a drug test to dispel the allegations of drug use following the leak of a video of ‘Frenzy Party’. There is also a new video that raises suspicions of inappropriate physical contact with a pop star.

According to the BBC, Prime Minister Marin held a press conference in Helsinki on the same day and said that “I had a drug test today” and that “the results will come out next week”.

During the interview, he repeatedly denied the allegations of drug use. “I have never done anything illegal. “Even as a teenager, I didn’t use any kind of drug,” he said, emphasizing that the test is meant to quell the allegations and he deserves a presumption of innocence until the results are out.

Prime Minister Marin is a 36-year-old ‘young’ leader. He was elected as the leader of the ruling Social Democratic Party in December 2019, making him the world’s youngest active prime minister at the age of 34.

On the 18th, a video of a ‘frenzy party’ in which people drink and dance passionately while having a ‘house party’ with regarding 20 celebrities including local politicians and celebrities was circulated, causing trouble. In particular, it was engulfed in suspicion of drug use due to the sound of party attendees shouting out words that were presumed to be drugs.

After the video leaked, Prime Minister Marin appealed that “work and leisure time should be separated”. However, questions have been raised regarding whether he can make important decisions in the wake of a national emergency at dawn, and criticism has been pouring in that he acted inappropriately as a national leader, foreign media reported.

In the midst of this, another video that embarrass Prime Minister Marin was released on the 19th.

The new video is a dance scene with Finnish pop star Olavi Usibirta, who was at the party at the time.

A reporter claimed at the interview that Usibirta was kissing Prime Minister Marin’s neck, which he denied, saying, “We were talking and probably kissed him on the cheek. It’s not at all inappropriate, it’s not something I can’t handle or something I can’t tell my husband.”

In December of last year, it was reported that Prime Minister Marin danced until 4 a.m. in a nightclub following close contact with Foreign Minister Pekka Havisto, who tested positive for COVID-19. He apologized via social media following the criticism was inappropriate.
